Inside Tentac with Leann Seal, Vice President of Sales and Marketing

On episode #26 of Building BN, Patrick and Nik speak with Leann Seal, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Tentac Enterprises, formerly known as The Snyder Companies. From their website:

Tentac Enterprises is a developer of some of the most visible projects and businesses in Central Illinois and beyond. As the parent company, headquartered in Bloomington, IL, Tentac is a privately-owned company which began its story as an insurance agency. It now consists of more than 20 companies serving multiple communities and employing hundreds of people.

Seal, originally from Pekin, Illinois, graduated from Illinois State University and after working for Disney, came back to Central Illinois to work in marketing for the Dobski family. Eventually she landed at the Snyder Companies, now known as Tentac, where she has worked for the last 25 years. ISU alumni may remember Seal from her time working at a McDonald’s restaurant that was at one time located inside the Bone Student Center. She also accompanied Ronald Mcdonald to events and school visits, and laughs, recalling to Patrick and Nik how the kids thought she was Ronald’s wife.

One Tentac business that Seal started and currently manages, Go Green Cleaning Services, has not missed a beat due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Considered an essential business, Go Green stayed open when other businesses closed, pivoting to handle new challenges associated with the pandemic. Seal explains, “We immediately got the COVID-19 sprayers and became very popular with businesses and restaurants that got the COVID-19 somewhere in the building and we would go in and spray.”

During this episode, Seal discusses the meaning behind the Tentac name, talks about exciting Tentac businesses focused on helping entrepreneurs get started, the importance of being agile in business in the face of challenging times, and describes her perfect day in Bloomington -Normal — which includes visits to many of the amazing parks and green spaces in BN, and more.
