Introducing BNEDC Community Marketing Manager Whitney Chesher
On episode #48 of the Building BN podcast, BNEDC CEO Patrick Hoban sits down to speak with Whitney Chesher, BNEDC’s new Community Marketing Manager. Chesher is originally from Central Illinois. She graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Journalism from Lincoln Land Community College in 2010 and a Bachelor's Degree in Communication and Media studies from the University of Illinois-Springfield in 2012.
Chesher has worked in a variety of positions in the marketing and public relations field. Her most recent position was the Public Relations Coordinator for Heartland Head Start. This position, according to Chesher, allowed her to become integrated and connected to the social service community, a vital aspect of Bloomington Normal. She explains, “ [The social service community] is a huge part of what makes up the heart of the city. So all of that, I think, just led me here to the EDC, which I was very excited about—the opportunity to expand my knowledge and to continue to be a Bloomington Normal cheerleader… My ultimate goal is to make sure everybody understands what we can do for Bloomington Normal and what we can do for you individually.”
Chesher’ first major project for the BNEDC is the Community Rebranding Initiative. Read more about the initiative here. You can listen to this episode of the podcast in its entirety here. For more information, contact Chesher at whitney@bnedc.org.
